Trade unions want to achieve constructive negotiations with government representatives. That is why they plan a protest march before the Cabinet Office building on Wednesday. As Trade Unions Confederation (KOZ) vice-president Eugen Skultety announced to journalists, after the protest march, where thousand of protesters are expected, the trade unions will deliver to the Cabinet Office an appeal to begin negotiations. Mr. Skultety argues that though problematic issues were already a topic for discussion between representatives of the government, employees and employers in the past, these were only “formal”. Though the cabinet declares its willingness to negotiate, it claims simultaneously, however, that it has no money for covering the demands of trade unions. That is why, one of the aims of the trade unions is that the tripartite agreement function „according to the law.“ Mr. Skultety pointed out that some bills were not discussed by the social partners at tripartite talks in the past. In case September protest actions fail, trade unions will consider a petition for a referendum on early elections.
