Chairman of the Regulatory Office for Network Industries (URSO) Jan Matusky ruled out the impact of the privatization of power distributors on setting electricity price for these companies.
Mr. Matusky told the parliamentary committee for economy, privatization and business on Thursday that the maximum price for power distributors would have been the same even if they were not privatized. The electricity price for end users grew 19.82 percent on average.
Mr. Matusky assured deputies that the price set by the regulator is based on economically justified costs and a fair profit. The URSO set the price on the basis of several analyses, consultations with advisory companies and firms in the energy industry.
On Thursday parliamentary committee for economy, privatization and business approved a report on reasons and consequences of changes in the regulation of network industries. The commission, featuring some economy committee deputies, will once again meet the URSO chairman to discuss this issue in a detailed way.
