During his visit to the United States Slovak President Rudolf Schuster welcomed the decision by the European Parliament (EP) that voted in favor of enlargement with the entry of ten candidate countries including Slovakia into the European Union. He sees this as a very convincing appreciation for Slovakia’s integration process and an appeal to all Slovak institutions to increase their efforts to become absolutely ready to operate within the European Union in line with Slovakia’s integration ambitions.
The European Parliament vote could inspire Slovakia’s citizens to vote for the country’s EU membership in the upcoming referendum on EU entry.
