The Ministry of Transport, Postal Services and Telecommunications will publish a draft bill on electronic communications, which will replace the currently valid telecommunications law, on its homepage for public discussion in late February. Viliam Podhorsky, director of the ministry’s department for postal services and telecommunications, said at a conference „Telecommunications SR – on the Way to Competitive Environment.“
The new law should become effective as of January 1, 2004 or as of the Slovakia’s entry into the European Union at the latest. It will implement new legislation of the European Union for the field of electronic communications.
