EBRD Wants to Continue Actively Operating in Slovakia
16. marca 2003

The European Bank for the Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) wants to continue actively operating in Slovakia and support financial consolidation and reduction of high level of unemployment in Slovakia through its investment. The bank’s objective is to expand its activities in enterprise, financial and infrastructure sectors, member of the EBRD Board of Directors Michael Neumayr said on Friday following a three-day visit of the bank’s representatives to Slovakia.

„We want to focus on less developed fields, such as support of small and medium-sized companies and enhancement of activity in less developed regions eastwards, “ said Mr. Neumayr. The EBRD also sees an important task in preparation and financing of projects from structural funds and the Cohesion Fund. The EBRD has committed more than USD 950 million through 37 projects in the Slovak Republic.
