Bank analysts expect July inflation, which will be revealed on Thursday by the Slovak Statistical Bureau, to be between 8.7 to 8.9 percent.
The consumer prices are expected to rise by 0.2 percent from the preceding month, if at all.
CSOB analyst Marek Gabris thinks consumer prices will rise in July by 0.1 percent, putting inflation to the level of 8.8 percent y/y. He counts with price rises of motor fuel, while he admits that lower prices of food in the summer will slower the inflation growth.
Slavia Capital analyst Pavol Ondriska expects inflation to remain unchanged in July. Seasonal disinflation influences should eliminate the impact of speculative rise of prices of cigarettes and motor fuel, he said.
UniBanka analyst Viliam Patoprsty is expecting a correction of a surprising price rise of food from June. However, he expects continued price growth in the category of beverages and tobacco caused by increased excise taxes. This should increase monthly inflation by 0.2 percent.
Mr. Gabris believes that critical for inflation in the next few months will be food prices because of drought this summer.
